This Jubilee weekend, for one day, Ramsden Road was closed, and the residents poured out onto the street to enjoy hours of fun, meeting neighbours we had never even encountered before let alone talked to, exchanging stories and sharing a picnic. For once local residents could enjoy this large public space instead of it being reserved for passing cars. Some played football or cycled, others drew crime scene chalk outlines or pinned tails on donkies. Most fought for pride in the tug-of-war, while some lucky souls found themselves pelted in the stocks!
